Thank you for the fairies

I'm not gonna lie; sometimes the day-to-day can become a blur of diapers, food-prep, and TRYING to get an errand done. I constantly catch myself dragging my kid (the one who's not ACTUALLY strapped to me) through the parking lot or the store, or even the house. In an attempt to slow it all down and celebrate our time together, we've decided to notice the fairies.
We think our fairies migrated from Mama Za's garden and we're happy to give them a home in ours. In fact, thats how we spent our day yesterday.

Dave and I took the girls to Orcutt Park in West Hills to search for things that the fairies might enjoy.

Bea and her Daddy made this house for any fairies that might be living in the park.

Even little Pippi got in on the action. We took our bucket of treasures home and Bea set to readying the fairies' garden. She was really proud of herself. We can't wait to see if the fairies find their home.

Wholey Moley, It's Been Awhile - An adventure in Echo Park with Auntie Jek and Mama Za

Yep, you guessed it, there's a new baby in town. Penelope Moon Landau hit the stage on July 7th 2010 which makes her nearly 5 months old. Look at those beautiful blue moon eyes! A shout out to Jek for these gorgeous pictures!
Here's Bea digging into her Pho at Blue Hen in Echo Park. Delicious! They even hooked her up with the requisite extra tofu.
And then there was Princess Potion. C'mon, the people at Swork know what their doing. Rasberry milk with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. Ooops, don't forget the pink circus cookie. Yum! We'll be sure to adopt this treat at home. Thanks for the treat Mama Za!
It's incredible to compare this post with my last (over a year ago!) Bea's nearly 3 1/2 now and practically perfect in every way!
Stay tuned for pictures from our family outing to Orcutt Park, searching for bits and pieces of pretties to make our offerings to the fairies.

Ventura County Fair

And no she is not crying because we sold her to the Marines.

This weekend we celebrated Auntie Katrina's birthday at the Ventura County Fair. Bea loved just about everything except getting off of the rides. She had walked through her first funhouse and had her first corndog. She even had her face painted.

Bea was really excited to see "Bambi" but she kept asking where the mother was. Ummm...

Too close - too close!

Bea's First Watercolor

I can hardly say how proud I am to see Bea enjoying watercolor painting so much. Should I have bought her an esel for her birthday?

I've never seen her sit and work with such concentration on anything before. So beautiful.

And We're Back!

Shout! Factory's summer party was on Tuesday afternoon. Bea loved playing on the beach.

This is how I found her after her nap the other day. She thought "two binkies" was hilarious!

Bea looks like such a little girl now. There's almost nothing left of the baby.

A Quick Update

My birthday was Sunday and I got a new camera (and new boots, and some clothes, and some soap). So, today I sat down to download the pictures and share them with you but I realized that the cable doesn't fit the new camera. So, new pics will be coming soon.

In the meantime, Bea has a new cousin, or second cousin or whatever. Miss Ava Jolie Doerfer-Tartikoff was born on July 28th. Now we'll just have to figure out how to get to New Jersey to love her up.
